Kinds of Science and Mathematics Teaching Credentials
In our public schools, a teacher needs to hold a credential (teaching certificate) in a particular area that allows the teacher to teach in that area. Here are some of the science and mathematics teaching areas. This list of areas changes over time as the Commission of Teacher Credentialing changes the credentials and their requirements. Check out the California Commission On Teacher Credentialing (http://www.ctc.ca.gov/)for more information or contact our Credentials Office for more information.
