Special Education Specialist Placement Information:

EDSP 464 A – Early Field Placement
Candidates will participate in a classroom for 1 full day or for 2 mornings per week during their first semester in the credential program.  In a corresponding seminar, candidates will be discussing and planning for these field experiences.

Placements will be arranged by the Director of Partnerships.  If you already have a paying position in an appropriate classroom setting, please indicate that on the placement form.

EDSP 465 and 467 – Student Teaching Placement
Candidates in the Special Education Specialist Credential program will student teach in their last semester of their program. The placement develops over 12 weeks, with students moving from observation and assisting individuals and small group instruction to assuming full teaching responsibilities.

Students who are planning to student teach must submit a placement request form to the Director of Partnerships, by April 1 for a fall placement and by November 1 for a spring placement.
