GILLIAN CONOLEY and TODD MELICKER
reading from their new books
Tuesday, March 4, 7:00 PM
Todd Melicker daily wanders the streets of Petaluma, Ca, gathering data as a GPS technician. He is the author of the chapbooks Day Collects (Woodland Editions), The Immaculate Autopsy (Achiote Press), and King & Queen (LRL Textile Editions). Rendezvous, his first full-length collection, was chosen by Zach Savich as the winner of the second annual Black Box Poetry Prize from Rescue Press. His work has also appeared in several journals including VOLT, Ambush Review, and New American Writing. Aaron Shurin writes of his work, "Rendezvous is a charged and beautifully uneasy meeting... Ever attended by the birds in their watchfulness--voyagers between realms--Melicker's elegantly controlled lyricism carries the ache and arc of sentience, of verses becoming voices in the shimmer.
This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Instructionally Related Activities, the Nadenia Newkirk Foundation for Writers, and Zaum.
