Background and Interests:
Born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and raised in Sonoma County, Nicole acquired a passion for geology through a childhood fascination with volcanoes. She earned her BS in Geological Sciences from University of Oregon and then pursued her MS in Geological Sciences from University of Texas. Nicole brings her enthusiasm for understanding the Earth to the community through higher education, summer school education programs for kids, and earth science stories. She currently teaches university and community college classes through the SSU Geology Department, the SSU Environmental Studies and Planning Department, Santa Rosa Junior College, and College of Marin. Nicole also teaches PiYo (Pilates & Yoga) through the SSU inMotion Program. In her free time, she pursues her passions through world travel, lapidary arts, and jewelry design.
