Academic and Professional Interests:
My primary teaching and research areas are environmental science education, outdoor leadership, environmental technology, and computer-aided communications. I have been an educational consultant for numerous organizations, including the World Resources Institute, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Peace Corps, President's Council on Sustainable Development, The Energy Foundation, and the California Department of Education. I was the lead consultant with the first group of Peace Corps volunteers to work in the former Soviet Union (Baltic countries), a facilitator for the Middle East Peace Process (Amman, Jordan) as well as a Visiting Scholar for the George Lucas Educational Foundation (Skywalker Ranch). In the Spring of 2007 I taught for the University of Virginia on a round-the-world voyage with Semester at Sea.
