How to Apply to EOP
STEP 1. Apply for CSU Admissions first
A) Apply for admission online via CSUMENTOR at www.csumentor.edu with $55.00 CSU application fee or Fee Waiver. Be sure to mark "Yes" on the CSU Application to apply for EOP services. The EOP Application is a seperate process beyond the CSU Applicaiton.
B) Submit official High School transcripts and SAT or ACT scores (if required).

STEP 2. Apply to the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
When you submit the online CSU Admission Application and request EOP services, you will be directed to the CSUMentor application to do the following:
A) Read the EOP information on CSUMentor, submit the online EOP Application. The EOP Program is for those that qualify as
1-First Generation college-bound students, meaning none of your parents attained a 4-year degree and you are
2-below the EOP Income guidelines set by the State according to number in Household. (See Eligibility link for numbers).
B) Submit the Information Form (#1) and (2) EOP Recommendation Forms, if required. One from your counselor and one from a teacher to complete. (Adobe Reader is required to view the PDF format).
NOTE: (Sonoma State specifically does not require Recommendation Forms if you are regularly admissible to the CSU. Only those that will be notified as "Specials" will be asked to submit Recomendation Forms.)

STEP 3. Apply for Financial Aid
Application for Financial Aid is a separate process from the CSU and EOP admissions process.
Go to the FAFSA website: www.fafsa.ed.gov and submit the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current year beginning January 1st - March 2nd is the deadline for priority consideration.

STEP 4. Take the CSU EPT/ELM Placement Tests
If you have not taken a college level English and/or Math class, you are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or the Entry Level Math (ELM).
See the College Board website online for more detials.We strongly recommend you take your EPT/ELM tests by March but no later than May unless you are exempt by SATs, AP Tests, etc.
Make sure you take the ELM Entry Level Math and the EPT, English Placement Test if you are not going to take the SAT/ACT. AP or Advanced Placement scores of over 3 will exempt you from these test also. See your High School Counselor for details. See our Testing website for schedule of exams.
