Summer Bridge is REQUIRED for all EOP First Time
Freshmen.This supervised, residential program is free of charge. There is NO CHARGE for you to attend this program. More information on Summer Bridge will be available during April through the Summer Bridge Booklet. Summer Bridge usually runs in the month of July, for about a week.
Summer Bridge is designed to smooth the way for EOP college students from high school to the university setting. The primary focus of the program is to give the students a taste of university life while creating supportive relationships between them and other EOP students and advisors. Summer Bridge provides an introduction to campus life, studentservices, and the surrounding community.
It also provides participants with an orientation to the university, academic advising, and registration for Fall classes. Participants learn college survival skills including handling needs such as housing, financial aid, budgeting, and career and major planning. There is also time for leisure activities and recreation. Most importantly, Summer Bridge begins the development of a sense of community for the Summer Bridge participants. |
