Program Director

Alison Marks, a professional artist and educator, offers the unusual combination of recognized stature as an active eduational administrator, as well as solid training and experience as a teacher. She is the co-author of the Marin Art Resources for Teachers Handbook and has conducted numerous trainings for educators. She has earned many awards and grants for educational programs she created for both public and private schools, including a Rockefeller Brothers Fund Award , a California Arts Council Residency and a resolution from the California State Assembly for excellence in education for EXCEL for Youth. Alison co-founded the Petaluma Arts Council, and was instrumental in the creation of the Petaluma Arts Center and the Petaluma Public Art Ordinance. She is currently the chair of the City of Petaluma's Public Arts Committee.
