We are located in scenic Northern California on the Sonoma State University campus. The park-like campus, a full 200 acres, has ponds, large trees, attractive landscaping and a nice view of nearby foothills. The university is in Rohnert Park, a small, modern city of 40,000 people. The Pacific Coast, world-famous Wine Country, redwood forests and golf courses are minutes from campus. San Francisco is only an hour to the south. We enjoy a mild Mediterranean climate.

How much do you cost?

Approximately $260 per week.

Do you have a homestay program?

Yes, we do! We will be happy to find you a family in the community where you can get room and board (2 meals per day) for approximately $575/month.

Can I live on campus?

Yes! There are attractive residence halls as well as on-campus apartments. Apply early, at least six months in advance, as dorm spaces are popular and fill quickly. Generally, students are expected to sign a year-long contract.

How can I get my student visa?

This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. When the application process is complete, you will be sent the appropriate documentation to apply for a student visa (F-1) at a U.S. consulate or embassy. Visitors in the country on B-2 visas are permitted a limited amount of coursework. Students wanting to study for full-time should obtain an F-1 visa.

When does your program start?

New students may begin in Spring (early February), in Summer (early June and mid July) and in Fall (early September). Mid-semester and January entrance is also possible.

Do I have to pass a test to be accepted?

Some students at the advanced level are able to register for university courses for degree credit. This is called Concurrent Enrollment. You might be able to study English and take a course or two in the university at the same time.

Do you have conditional admission?

How many students do you have and where are they from?
