Using MySSU
Self Service or Student Center
Students admitted to Sonoma State University who are applying for financial aid must use MySSU to view your documentation requirements, called your To Do List. You will also use MySSU to view your financial aid awards once they are available. Most new admits will follow Self Service links in MySSU. After you’ve been admitted, paid your Enrollment Reservation Deposit (ERD), and been granted full student access to registration, MySSU will take you to your Student Center instead. Whichever path you are given, the information provided in MySSU is the same.
What is MySSU?
MySSU provides the information you need regarding your:
- To Do List of documentation requirements for financial aid, admissions, etc.
- Admission application status
- Financial aid awards if you are admitted to SSU
- Ability to update your personal contact information
Please note that there may be a processing period before you can set up your access to MySSU. For Fall applicants, your email reply from Admissions should explain the processing period. For Spring applicants, there may be a two week delay between the date you submit your admission application and the date you are able to access MySSU.
How Do I Know When to Check MySSU for Information?
The Financial Aid Office sends email to you when there is information to view regarding your financial aid To Do List or financial aid awards. Until you receive a Seawolf Gmail address, our email will be sent to your personal email address on file with SSU. When no personal email address has been provided or personal email is undeliverable, we send a letter to the address SSU has on file for you.
If you are admitted and become eligible to register for classes, you will receive a Seawolf Gmail account, which will become the only email address we use to contact you from that point forward. For continuing SSU students, the Financial Aid Office exclusively uses the Seawolf Gmail account for official communications. Please visit our Using Seawolf Gmail page for further information.
