Award Messages
Award Offers sent by mail
On your Financial Aid Award Offer you may have a message referring to a specific fund you have been awarded. They are listed in the Messages section on page 2 of your award offer.
Award Offer notifications sent by email
Messages will not be listed in your emailed Award Offer notification, however if you have any of the following funds, these messages apply to your award:
- Federal Work Study
- You must obtain a Work Study Student Assistant job in order to receive these funds. As you work, you will receive a monthly paycheck for the amount you earn.
- Perkins Loan
- Requires a Master Promissory Note and/or additional forms that will be mailed to you by the Financial Services Office.
- Parent Loan (PLUS)
- Requires a parent or step-parent to complete the PLUS loan application downloadable from our web site. Requires at least half-time attendance (6.0 units).
- IP Budget Offset
- This amount reflects a reduction in your Financial Aid eligibility and is based on the difference between the Standard SSU Cost of Attendance and the standard IP Budget for your program.
- Voc Rehab
- This amount is based on our estimate of the benefits Vocational Rehabilitation will provide to you. If you believe this estimate is incorrect, contact our office.
