SSU Scholarships:

Scholarhips are administered through the SSU Scholarship Office

Requirements:
  • Good academic standing
  • Letters of recommendation. Be sure to contact your professors before the end of fall semester.
Deadline:

Usually around January 15, but check through the Scholarship Office

Special Funds for Geography Students that are Distributed by the Scholarship Office:
  • Terrence M. Smith Geography Scholarship
  • Geography Alumni Scholarship
  • Claude Minard Memorial Scholarship.
  • Call Memorial Scholarships (for students pursuing studies in climatology, meteorology or oceanography)

International Geography Honor Society of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU)Scholarships:

Information and application materials may be found through Gamma Theta Upsilon. Scholarship recipients must be GTU members.

The Buzzard Undergraduate Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded to a college senior for use toward graduate school expenses
The Maxfield Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded to a junior or senior with either career or graduate school aspirations.
The Richason Scholarship  ($1,000)
Awarded to a junior or senior with either career or graduate school aspirations.
The Rechlin Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded to a junior or senior with either career or graduate school aspirations
