Internship Ideas
SSU Geography students have found internships in many different agencies, companies and locations. Below are some of the places where students have interned or where internships might be found. An agency's presence here does not mean they will have internships available. Sometimes they will set up an internship even if they are not actively seeking interns. This is particularly true if you have specialized skills, such as in computing or GIS.
Internships may or may not be paid. Compensation, if any, is offered by the agency or company you work for. Non-paid internships may sound unattractive, but often lead to paid employment at the same or similar firm! Keep in mind that regardless of whether paid or not, you should consider an internship to be a job. You should commit to being reliable, prompt, hard-working and cooperative.
