Paper Guidelines and Policies
The following guidelines and policies apply to all upper division geography classes, unless otherwise noted by the instructor.
1) Paper Format
- 1.5 line spacing
- 1.25" margins
- 12 pt font
- New Times Roman font
- Page numbering
2) Referencing and citation style
3) Policies
- a. Insufficient or improper citations:
- Students will be allowed 1 day to fix it.
- 10% will be deducted from the final grade
- b. Egregious grammatical, spelling and organizational problems
- Students will be allowed 2 days to fix it.
- 10% will be deducted from the final grade
- c. An overall grade lower than a C-
- Students will be allowed 2 days to rewrite it.
- 10% will be deducted from the final grade
- Available upon the discretion of the instructor
- Available to all students, no matter their original grade
- A maximum 10% increase on the original grade
Mandatory Rewrite:
Students who do not meet minimum standards will be asked to rewrite their papers and resubmit them. Students who fail to resubmit them will forfeit all points from the assignment.
