SSU Distinguished Alumni Awards

Nomination Process

Four annual awards will be presented in the following categories:

Alumni Association Achievement Award, to recognize and honor Sonoma State University alumni and also individuals who did not attend SSU who have made significant contributions to our community.
Distinguished Alumni Award, presented to Sonoma State University alumni for their outstanding professional achievements, contributions to society and the University;
Distinguished Alumni Teaching Award, presented to an alumni faculty member in recognition of his/her dedication to teaching at Sonoma State University;
Outstanding Alumni Staff Award, to recognize an alumni staff member who has rendered unique and exceptional service to Sonoma State University;

Eligibility for awards:

• For the Distinguished Alumni Award, Distinguished Alumni Teaching Award, and Outstanding Alumni Staff Award, any alumni of Sonoma State University is eligible (graduate or non-graduate);
• For the Alumni Association Achievement Award, SSU alumni and individuals who have never attended SSU are eligible.

The Distinguished Alumni and Achievement Awards Nomination Form (in PDF format) is available online or by contacting the Alumni Association office, 707.664.2426.

Please complete this form, and include all other supporting documentation (articles, publicity, resume/CV, letters of recommendation, etc.) and return to:

Deadlines:

The Alumni Association encourages Distinguished Alumni nominations year- round. The 2008 nomination deadline is April 18. Recipients will be recognized on Distinguished Alumni Day, Thursday, October 16, 2008.
