Enlivened by a series of lakes, wide green lawns, scores of birds and visiting Canada geese, Sonoma State University occupies 269 acres in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County in Northern California. Located at the foot of the Sonoma hills, the campus is just an hour is drive north of San Francisco and 40 minutes from the Pacific Ocean.
Back in 1972, the residential community opened its doors to 408 residents. The non-traditional suites were occupied by students who were mostly in their late twenties and early thirties. More than thirty years later, the residential community is now home to approximately 2400 students with the average age being closer to nineteen. The Residential Community at SSU offers a variety of accommodations from shared bedrooms in residential suites to private bedrooms and baths in apartments.
As you walk through campus, you'll notice the rolling hills in the background and the colorful patches of landscape and feel captivated by the beauty and serenity of Sonoma State. The Residential Community at SSU provides first-rate accommodations for students looking to escape traditional dormitories.
