Room Changes for Spring 2009
Students have the opportunity to request a room change for the Spring semester by submitting the End of Semester Room Change Request form to our office no later than December 3rd. Please go to
End of Semester Room Changes for complete details, vacancies, and form.
Room Changes During Academic Year
Room changes will begin the week of September 2nd. We do not complete any room changes the first week so that we can determine who is here and who did not show up. Generally, room changes work in the following way:
- Submit an online Room Change Request form to Housing Services. You will need to use your Seawolf Username and password (what you use for your email and registration).
- Housing Services will eithher contact you directly or forward the situation to Residential Life.
- In some instances, room changes may not be automatic and will require intervention from Residential Life staff with potential agreements being established.
- If the room change is approved then they would be given a few choices and asked to check out the rooms (if applicable).
- Resident will meet roommates and notify the Housing Office of the desired room no later than Thursday of that week.
- The resident will then come in Friday after 1 p.m. to have their SSU ID encoded with thhe new room so they can move over the weekend. They will be issued a temporary card for the old room which must be returned to Housing that Monday.
- The online form is available at http://www.sonoma.edu/housing/roomchanges/
Housing Notes and Writing Home
Every month the Housing Office publishes a newsletter for the residents called Housing Notes and once a semester a Writing Home newsletter is sent home to the parents. Both publications are distributed in an effort to help sort through some of the more important
issues surrounding the student's contract with Housing. Housing Notes is sent to the resident's SSU email account once a month with an .pdf attachment. Students will be able to access the file from this page as well. The Writing Home newsletter is mailed to the parent's attention at the resident's permanent address. To view this years editions please click on the Housing Notes link under the Highlights section.
