Move-In Weekend Information

Move-In

Residents may arrive and move-in after their scheduled time. Residents will go directly to their bedrooms and do not need to "check-in" at a different location. Everything else you will need will be placed on your bed and desk.

Move-In Weekend Hours

Move-in business hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on both days. All University services participating in Move-In Weekend will close at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Move-In Weekend Assistance

There will be offices that you can visit if you need assistance during Move-In Weekend. Staff will be available at the Housing Office in Zinfandel located next to the Marketplace, Cellars Office in Sauvignon next to Ameci's and the Cooperage, and in the new Beaujolais Community Building next to the Beaujolais swimming pool. Staff will be able to assist with any questions you might or help troubleshoot card access issues.

Important Parking Information

A parking map will be included in your Move-In Weekend booklet which will be mailed home starting August 6th. Please read over the parking map for clarification on where to go to unload belongings.

Parking Restrictions

The parking areas immediately adjacent to Village buildings are restricted to 15 minute unloading only. After unloading, please move your vehicle to one of the non-restricted areas parking areas - Parking Lots A, D, E, or F. - so that other residents can unload their cars. Please understand that due to the number of vehicles on campus during this time, you may not be able to park in the parking lot closest to your village. For this reason, we have requested students and families to follow the published Move-In Weekend schedule.

Parking is permitted only in designated spaces. Designated spaces are those with lines on both sides. Parking in unmarked spaces creates safety hazards and can impede people or vehicles from getting to their location. Vehicles parked in these spaces or in areas designated for the disabled are subject to citation.

Recreational Vehicles

We strongly discourage the use of motor homes or trailers that do not fit in standard parking spaces for transporting belongings. These types of vehicles are not allowed on campus for overnight stay. Additionally, there is no designated parking for these vehicles and they will not be permitted in the residence hall parking lots. If you have further questions regarding parking, please call Police and Parking Services at (707) 664-4444.

Health and Accident Insurance

During the period covered by the License Agreement, students are encouraged to obtain health and accident insurance.

Many students are covered under their family health insurance policy. However, if you need health insurance please visit the CSU Health Link site which is a program affiliated with Sonoma State's Associated Students.

Renter's Insurance

It is highly recommended that you have renter's insurance for your personal property. The University has no insurance to cover damage or loss of your personal belongings. Sometimes this will be covered under a parent's homeowner policy, but you will want to check with your insurance agent about the details.CSI Insurance Agency, National Student Services, Inc , GradGuard , and Progressive Insurance specialize in providing renter insurance policies at reasonable rates.
