New To SSU - Applying for the Fall & Spring

First Time Freshman

About ninety percent of the first time freshman (FTF) class lives on campus in the Residential Community. Typically, they would be considered a student who has never attended a University before and has just recently graduated from high school. We like to house our first time freshman in the same areas so they can live with students with whom they share classes. This helps build a better and more interactive community.

Incoming Transfers

About twenty percent of the incoming transfers live on campus in the Residential Community. A typical transfer would be considered a student who has attended either a junior college or a different University and is now transferring to SSU.

Accommodations

Our transfer students may choose to live with other transfers and residents who have lived on campus before. The "Transfer House" is one building in Beaujolais Village designated for incoming transfers only. Having a "Transfer House" allows new SSU students to create a more interactive community and makes the transition smoother for the transfers.

The majority of our incoming transfers live in our Sauvignon or Beaujolais Apartments. The room occupancy in Sauvignon Village can be either single or double occupancy. Beaujolais apartments are all single occupancy bedrooms. Descriptions of the two apartment types follow.

Sauvignon Apartments

Located in the Sauvignon Village, these four bedrooms, four bath apartments offer private bedrooms and baths, but give students the opportunity to share a living room and kitchen area with others. This Village will be a mixture of first time freshman, incoming transfers, and returning residents. Details are available in the Gallery and Accommodations sections.

Beaujolais Apartments

Located on the southeast part of campus, Beaujolais Village consists of four bedrooms, four bath apartments designed for the privacy of continuing and transferring students. All bedrooms are single occupancy to offer the maximum amount of privacy available. Details are available in the Gallery and Accommodations sections.
