About twenty percent of the new transfers live on campus in the Residential Community. A typical transfer would be considered a student who has attended either a junior college or a different University and is now transferring to SSU. Our transfer students live with other transfers and residents who have lived on campus before. The "Transfer House" is one building in Beaujolais Village designated for new transfers only. Having a "Transfer House" allows new SSU students to create a more interactive community and makes the transition smoother for the transfers.
Once you are admitted to SSU, you will receive information about how to apply for Campus Housing. You will need to return the Housing Request (HR) form as soon as possible as the received date - as well as the paid Enrollment Reservation Deposit (ERD) date - determine your campus housing assignment priority. Campus housing is not guaranteed. In the past the demand for campus housing has exceeded the supply so it is to your advantage to return the HPR form and pay the ERD as soon as possible.
Important Notice: Your admissions letter will give you a web address where you can access the Housing Request forms, which is part of the Admissions Guidebook. If you try to submit the Presently Enrolled version, it will be discarded. In order to receive an offer of campus housing you must first pay the Enrollment Reservation Deposit. Since the demand for campus housing exceeds the supply, it is to your advantage to return this ERD as soon as possible.
Around the middle of July (for Fall semester and late December for the Spring term), you should receive your room assignment, telephone number, University mailing address and the name and address of your roommate. Every effort will be made to honor the room assignment requests you indicate on your returned license agreement, but particular assignments can not be guaranteed. Your actual assignment all depends on your assignment priority date (established by returned date of your HPR form) and how many students with earlier priority dates have requested the same accommodations.
