Your Room Assignment Packet
Your room assignment packet contains four items - your Fall 2008 assignment, an emergency preparedness checklist, a map of the Check-In area, a 2008-2009 Fee Schedule, and for first time freshman a letter from the Office of Residential Life; everything else you need to know is posted on this website.
At this point, you are probably wondering what to do next. There definitely is a lot of information to review and understand before you move-in. A general idea of how to proceed is listed below:
- Read everything on your assignment letter and visit the Room Assignment Letter link for more details on where you were assigned.
- Read the flyer about preparing for an emergency and start gathering items for your emergency kit.
- Check out the floor plans and furnishings of your specific assignment as well as pictures and Community amenities.
- Email your roommate to exchange personal information and possibly follow-up with a phone call or an in-person meeting.
- Read the information contained on the "Preparing for Opening Weekend" page (link on the upper right). This provides a greater look at what to bring and what not to bring and what are some of the immediate essentials.
- Review the Opening information regarding check-in times and parking information. There is also a compiled list of available services for moving into the Residential Community. This will give you a general outline of what departments will be open for business and suggestions on what to take care of prior to school starting.
- Starting August 9th, you will be able to retrieve your suitemate's email address. Prior to the 9th an email will be sent with more specific details.
- Download and submit a Privacy Request before August 15th if you do not want to have directory information (room and phone number) disclosed to the general public.
