Housing Services works closely with many other campus departments to provide residential services in order that residents experience a satisfying living-learnng residential experience. Housing Services oversees all aspects of the services provided to the residents and works diligently to maintain positive interactions with the other departments. In some cases, it may be essential to direct you to the appropriate expert to answer your questions.
Office of Residential Life
Housing Services and Residential Life work very closely to provide a living and learning experience. Once residents move-in they will interact
more often with Residential Life. This is because Residential Life oversees social, cultural, recreational and educational programming, creating leadership opportunities,
negotiating roommate conflicts, and enforcing policy within the Residential Community.
Counseling and Psychological Services
The SSU Counseling Center offers confidential counseling to students experiencing personal problems that interfere with their
academic progress, career or well-being. Brief Therapy (1-8 sessions) is offered through individual, couple, family, or
group modalities.
Customer Services
Customer Services, located centrally in Salazar Hall, is the place where students will request many services, such as reporting lost keys, making all types of University payments,
logging a maintenance request, purchasing a parking decal, and looking for lost items.
Dining Services
Housing Services charges the fees associated with the required meal plan on behalf of Sonoma State Enterprise (SSE). SSE is a self-supporting auxiliary of the University providing University's Dining Services.
Dining Services plans the menus and prepares the meals for the residents required to be on a meal plan and for those who purchase a meal plan or flex cash through their office.

Disability Services for Students
Student with disabilities are highly encourage to personally contact and register with the Disability Services for Students to arrange for their
appropriate accommodations. Housing Services works with DSS to establish priority and needs based on documented medical conditions and disabilities.
Facilities Services
Facilities Services is responsible for maintaining the structures and grounds in the Residential Community. The Facilities staff responds to maintenance requests reported to Customer Service. There goals is to make a "house call" within 24 hours of the time the problem was reported.
Usually, they will leave a notice to update the student on the status - letting them know if the work has been completed or if they need to return for follow-up. Within Facilities, there is also Housekeeping and Landscaping. Housekeeping is responsible for
cleaning the rooms prior and after occupancy. They also address issues with carpets, trash, and recycling. Landscaping's primary job in the Residential Community is to maintain the grounds
in the courtyards, pest control, and to to provide attractive landscaping around the Villages. Facilities does not currently have a website; however, they can be reached at (707) 664-2317.
Financial Aid Office
One of the advantages to living on-camps is that students can utilize their Financial Aid awards to cover their housing and food expenses. Financial Aid is an integral part of students' and parents' ability to afford living on-campus. Knowing this, we take into consideration the cost of campus housing and work
with the Financial Aid Office (FAO) to establish appropriate guidelines for using financial aid to pay for housing costs.
Information Technology
Information Technology provides email, internet connectivity, and local phone service for our 2400 residents. University's IT Department publishes information about how to get connected to the University's network.
This Get Connected information is available online. Get Connected focuses on information incoming students, or students new to the Residential Community, will need for a sucessful
experience at SSU. Assistance is also available at various locations during Opening Weekend.
Police Services
Sonoma State University Police & Parking Services provides 24 hours a day police protection for the campus community. Sonoma State University Police Officers are vested with full law enforcement
powers and responsibilities, identical to the local police and sheriff in your home community. The officers are trained at a regional police academy and receive additional in-service and specialized training in first aid, CPR, firearms use, defensive tactics,
legal updates, evidence gathering, traffic accident investigation, etc. All University police officers have full law enforcement authority throughout the state of California. They are responsible for a wide range of services including all crime reports, investigations,
medical emergencies, traffic accidents and Community Oriented Partnership Policing Strategy (COPPS). The COPPS Program is designed so that police officers assigned a specialty may educate the campus on topics such as sexual assault prevention, substance abuse, general crime prevention and alarms.
Student Health Center
The Student Health Center is located across from Zinfandel Hall and offers a wide range of free or very low cost health care services to SSU students during the school year. A description of their services can be found at http://www.sonoma.edu/shc.
