A reminder to all managers that annual performance evaluations, covering your employees’ performance from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, are due in HR by September 1, 2014. Collective Bargaining Agreements
As negotiations on successor contracts continue, the CSU and CFA (representing bargaining unit 3 – Faculty) have agreed to extend their current CBA through August 6, 2014. The CSU and CSUEU (representing staff bargaining units 2, 5, 7, and 9) have agreed to extend their current CBA through July 31, 2014. Outside Employment Disclosure
MPP and Executive Employees are now required to report outside employment to the CSU. Regardless of whether they have outside employment, they are required to complete an Outside Employment Disclosure and Acknowledgement form and return it to Human Resources. The disclosure is required by September 8, 2014 for the initial reporting period, thereafter on an annual basis, and throughout the year within 30 days of taking outside employment as well as within 10 days of an Appropriate Administrator’s request. Criminal History Procedure Change
California law now prohibits employers from asking applicants about criminal convictions until it has been determined that the applicant has met the minimum qualifications of the job. Our employment application has been updated to reflect this change and must be used for all staff and student appointments. In addition, all new hires will be required to complete a Supplemental Employment Application Questionnaire disclosing their criminal history. In the case of recruitments, hiring managers must send names of all interview candidates to their Recruiter prior to scheduling interviews so that the Supplemental Questionnaire process may be coordinated. ING Name Change to Voya Investment Management
On May 1, 2014 ING Investment Management, one of the CSU Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) 403(b) Plan fund sponsors, officially changed its name to Voya Investment Managment. As a result, the names of any fund options managed by ING U.S. Investment Management and also currently available as an investment option in the CSU TSA Program will also be changed to reflect the new VOYA name.
A postcard that includes information about the transition to the Voya name and the fund name changes was mailed to all participants with balances in ING funds.
The orientation process assists new employees in learning about their benefits & becoming a productive member of the SSU family.
