Admissions

The Hutchins School accepts students as freshmen Fall only. Juniors are accepted in the Fall and sometimes in the Spring depending on availability. When applying to the university, all students seeking admission to the Hutchins School should select Liberal Studies - Hutchins School as their major in the on-line application. Admissions to Hutchins School of Liberal Studies

Select "Liberal Studies(Hutchins School)" or "Hutchins School Liberal Studies" when applying online.

Continuing Students: Students already at Sonoma State seeking admission into the Hutchins program must file a separate Hutchins application form preferably by:
  • February 15 for the Fall semester. Fall applications filed after this deadline will be considered on a space available basis.
  • October 1 for the Spring semester. (This option is not always available.) Spring applications filed October 1st will be considered on a space available basis.
On-campus application forms are available in the Hutchins School office, Rachel Carson Hall 44 or click on Campus Transfer Application.

Students with Disabilities : Any student who has a disability which may affect his/her academic work should register with the Disability Services for Students and explore appropriate accommodations before beginning coursework in the Hutchins School.
