About
Internships in Track I
Internships are one of three alternatives for Track I Students to
complete their off-campus work. The other two are Study Away and College
Year Away from Campus, including Going Abroad.
The Study Away Program
Often preceded by a semester of independent study related to the placement,
the Study Away Program allows students to include, as part of their major,
experiences as diverse as:
- A period of domestic or international study or travel.
- An independent project in a nearby community.
- An internship with a local arts organization, business, school, or
social service agency.
- Substantial involvement in a program with another department on this
or some other campus.
- Or other options and activities created by the student in consultation
with an advisor.
Whether close at hand or far away, the Study Away/Internship experience
can help students to relate their education to specific career choices,
greater intellectual understanding, and their place in an ever-larger
world.
