Program Description
The Blended Undergraduate Education Program (Hutchins School: Track III) is a four-year liberal arts and elementary teacher education program designed to support Sonoma State University's ongoing commitment to excellence in undergraduate instruction and teacher preparation.

This program will provide students with a total course load of 135-6 units taken over four years, with 17-18 unit semesters during the first three years. Graduates of this program will earn a BA in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. See our 4-year plan for more detail on courses and schedules.

Given the heavy academic load required during each semester of the four year program students will find it difficult to be employed during the school year. Information about sources of financial aid is available on the School of Education website, or the Financial Aid Office at Sonoma State (707) 664-2389. For scholarship information call (707) 664-2261.

To Continue in the Program:
  1. Permission to continue in the Blended Program (Track III) after the student's first year will be based on maintaining a B equivalent GPA in graded courses and attaining the written recommendations of their first year instructors.

  2. Students must pass the CBEST exam and apply to the School of Education during their second year. Admission to the Multiple Subject Credential Program will be based on the same criteria required of all candidates to the School of Education.
