Women As Catalyst for Change:
The Critical Roles of Women in the Abolitionist Movement.

History often depicts the conscience of America as the catalyst for the end of slavery. However, the nineteenth century women who broke all protocol to denounce slavery undoubtedly inspired the awakening of such consciousness. The project will entail historical research of this extraordinary group of women whose dedication to the abolition of slavery preceded the movement for equal rights for women in the U.S.
