Hutchins Community Art Exhibit
November 5 th and 6 th, 2008

Entry form to submit artwork

Work submitted for this exhibition envisions thought-provoking, unconventional, innovative, and original artworks expressed in a range of materials. Works can be two- and three-dimensional, and of numerous techniques.

 Eligibility: (Please Read Carefully)

  • Open to all artists connected to the Hutchins community.
  • All formats considered, including wall-hung, free-standing, or pedestal mounted.
  • Maximum size: It is critical that dimensions and weight are indicated for each entry.
  • Wall-hung work many not exceed 105” height by 72” width by 12” depth (including frame), and not weigh over 50 lbs. Wall-hung work over 60” in any direction, or over 35 lbs. in weight must be submitted by photograph.
  • Free-standing work may not exceed 114” in height. However, free-standing work over 36” in any direction, or over 35 lbs., must be submitted by photograph.
  • All work must be original and not previously shown at a Hutchins Art Show.
  • Maximum of 3 entries per artist.

Entrance Fee:

  • $1.00 per piece

Selection:

  • Work for this exhibit will be selected from hand-delivered artwork ONLY.

 To Hand Deliver Entries:

  • Entries will only be accepted at Carson 61or Carson 44 from Wednesday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 22 nd, 2008 by 12:00 pm.
  • All work must have a label (provided on the attached sheet) on the back of the artwork.

 

Awards: No awards will be given, however a raffle for prizes will take place at the reception. Two raffles will be taken place; one for the artists that submitted artwork and the other for guests.

Liability regarding work submitted:

  • No changes to title, etc. will be permitted after delivery of artwork.
  • All reasonable care will be taken with the works, but insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Sonoma State, Hutchins, or its representatives will assume no liability for damage or loss.
  • Wet or unfinished work will not be accepted.
  • All wall-hung work must be framed and securely wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers. (We can provide wiring with a donation of $5.00)
  • If freestanding artwork needs support, artists must provide their own easel
  • Selected artists agree to allow work to be photographed for media use.
  • Hutchins is not responsible for work left after reception unless previously informed that it will be picked up at a later date.

 

Calendar and Deadlines:

  • October 15 – 22 Artwork can be delivered to Carson 61 or Carson 44.
  • October 22 Wednesday, noon. Deadline for work to be submitted.
  • October 23 Thursday. Artists will be contacted through email whether or not their artwork will be selected for the art show.
  • November 3 - 4 Pick-up of entries not selected.
  • November 5 Wednesday, 11:00 - 5:00 pm. Show open.
  • November 6 Thursday, 11:00 – 5:00 pm. Show open.
  • November 6 Thursday, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Reception.
  • November 6 Thursday, 8:00 pm. Artwork pick-up by artist.
