How to Access Your
E-mail using your iPhone
- Select the settings menu from the iPhone menu.
- Select Mail, Contacts, and Calendar from the next menu.
- Select Add Account…
- Select Other
- Select Add Mail Account
- Enter your Name, E-Mail address (including the @sonoma.edu), Password, and a Description.
- Click Save at the top and a menu will appear with more options.
- Select IMAP at the top. Enter mail.sonoma.edu for the Incoming Mail Sever. For User Name enter your seawolfid and enter your email password.
- For the outgoing mail server enter smtps.sonoma.edu, for the user name enter your seawolfid again and enter your seawolfid again and your email password.
- Click save at the top and the iPhone will attempt to finish setting up the mail account. You will get an error that says “Secure Connection Failed: The certificate for (description) many not be valid.” Click on Continue.
- Under the Outgoing Mail Server. Click on SMTP smtps.sonoma.edu
- Make sure the server is ON. Make sure your password is in the password field. Turn ON SSL. Make sure the Authentication field is set to Password and the Server Port is 587.
- Under the advanced menu make sure SSL is enabled, Authentication is set to Password, and the IMAP Path Prefix is set to /. The Server Port should be set to 993.
- Select the mail Icon from your home menu and it should start populating your email.
