This will affect Meeting Maker users.
IT will be upgrading the campus Meeting Maker Server to version 6.0.7 in early December. This version of Meeting Maker will offer some new functionality - the most noteworthy is that Java functionality has been added for web access to Meeting Maker.
This migration will require two down times for the server:
The first will be a database cleanup on Friday, December 1st from 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM Saturday morning - IT will be "expiring" scheduling data older than 18 months in order to streamline the migration process and boost the general performance of the server.
Friday, December 8th from 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM Saturday December 9, IT will be migrating Meeting Maker data from the old server application to the new server application. This will complete the server migration.
Important Note: Although the update process is mostly automated, Meeting Maker users will need to perform a few additional steps to log into the new server for the first time after the upgrade (i.e., after 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9).
Please go to http://www.sonoma.edu/IT/faq/mm/ to learn what steps you will need to take to use the new Meeting Maker Server. Also a general announcement about the Meeting Maker upgrade can be found at http://www.sonoma.edu/IT/faq/mm/. A copy of the new Meeting Maker Quick Reference Guide and the Meeting Maker 6 User Guide can also be found at that location. If for some reason the automatic update does not work for you, there will be installers for the new Meeting Maker client at that location.
If you are concerned about the possiblity of losing your calendar data during the upgrade, you should print or export your calendar before Friday December 8th at 5:00 p.m. Instructions for doing that can be found at the IT Meeting Maker web page, http://www.sonoma.edu/IT/faq/mm/. (The loss of your calendar is highly unlikely but if you want to be safe you should perform the export procedure)
