Network Security and Communication Services (NSCS)
Mission:
Network Security and Communication Services (NSCS) provides data and voice communications support for Sonoma State University as well as the surrounding community. Our main mission is to insure an environment for students, faculty, and staff so that they may take maximum advantage of network computing and telecommunication technologies to enhance and further the instructional and research goals of the University. Some specific responsibilities and functions include: the administration, analysis, design, installation, maintenance, operation, and planning of campus data and voice communications.
Telecommunication Specifications
In collaboration with Facilities and NSCS, we have developed Sonoma State University Telecommunication Specification documents. These documents follow and support the CSU Telecommunication Infrastructure Planning Standard (TIPS) - .pdf but just give more detail about specific parts and requirements for installation of telecommunication services here at Sonoma State. These documents are meant to be given to architects, designers, and contractors at the start of renovation or new construction projects
