Mac OS 8.5-9.2 Network Setup

  1. Pull down the Apple Menu (top left) and select Control Panels > TCP/IP.
  2. In the TCP/IP window, pull down the Connect Via pop-up menu and select Ethernet.
  3. Pull down the Configure pop-up menu and select Using DHCP Server.
  4. Leave the DHCP Client ID field blank and enter "sonoma.edu" into the Search domains field (lower right-hand corner).
  5. Close the TCP/IP window and click Save.
  6. To test, simply run a TCP/IP client such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. If problems occur, double-check the TCP/IP settings.
