Turnitin.com Plagarism Prevention

SSU has a site licensce for Turnitin.com's plagiarism prevention service. Turnitin is a web-based tool that allows instructors to evaluate student writing for possible plagiarism. Instructors create Turnitin Assignments, then students upload and submit their papers to the website.

Turnitin compares submissions to billions of pages on the Internet, commercial databases of journals and periodicals, and other papers already submitted to Turnitin. An "originality report" details matches found.

Instructors using WebCT can add a Turnitin Assignment directly from the WebCT course homepage.

Looking for a Login?

SSU's website has several places where you can login:

University Quick Links
The SSU homepage and other top-level pages have a pull-down "Quick Links" menu in the top left corner. Select Online Services/WebCT and click Go. Use your Seawolf ID to login.
Online Services Login Page
This is the main login form for SSU's Online Services - the portal for access to CMS-HRSA, Webmail and WebCT. Use your Seawolf ID to login.
Links for Students - Mini Form
The Links for Students page is linked in the main navigation on all SSU's top level pages. There's a mini-login form at the top of the left-hand navigation column. The Links for Students page has lots of other links commonly used by students - a great page to bookmark. Use your Seawolf ID to login.
Links for Faculty & Staff - Mini Form
The Links for Faculty & Staff page is linked in the main navigation on all SSU's top level pages. There's a mini-login form at the top of the left-hand navigation column. This page has lots of other links commonly used by faculty and staff, so it's a good starting point for SSU employees. Use your Seawolf ID to login.
WebCT Only Login
This login page gives access only to WebCT. We recommend it for guest logins only. Students, Faculty and Staff should use one of the other login options listed above. Because it is not as closely tied to our authentication system as the Online Services Logins listed above, it cannot provide helpful error messages when users enter incorrect or expired account inormation. Guests won't have Seawolf IDs. Faculty can request a guest access account for guest lecturers, volunteers or peers from other campuses.
