Saving PowerPoint as a PDF document:
Instructors have several options for showing a Power Point presentation in WebCT. (see save as webpage and uploading a .ppt file).
No matter which option you choose, you should first follow the instructions for Building an Accessible Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.
Saving the presentation as a PDF:
Pros : The students do not need PowerPoint on their computers to view the files. Students can print right from the PDF window, including printing multiple sheets per page. Instructors can offer several PDF formats with notes, handouts, or slideviewer.
Cons: Students must have Acrobat Reader installed (most do). Audio and video and animations are not included in PDF files.
- Faculty using Windows must have Acrobat Professional to save as PDF.
- Faculty using Macs can use Save As function w/ out having Acrobat Professional.
