Upload the PowerPoint file (.ppt) to WebCT6
Instructors have several options for showing a Power Point presentation in WebCT6 (see save as pdf and save as Web Page ).
No matter which option you choose, you should first follow the instructions for Building an Accessible Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.
These instructions are for uploading .ppt files into WebCT6.
Pros: Simple to upload.
Cons: Students may easily edit the content once it is downloaded to their computers.
- In PowerPoint, save your powerpoint presentation on your desktop with the Save As command . Choose Save as Presentation. Make sure you choose a simple, meaningful name without spaces.
- Enter the WebCT6 course where you want to upload the presentation.
- While in the Build tab you can add your .ppt file on the Course Content Home page or go inside a folder to save it to that folder.
- From your Homepage or folder, click the Add File button. Select Browse for Files from the drop-down context menu. Wait until the My Computer icon appears.
- Once the My Computer icon appears, click on it to choose files from your computer.
- Locate the PowerPoint file from your desktop. Click Open.
An upload file status window will let you know how your upload is progressing. Depending on the speed of your connection and the size of your file(s), this may take a while. When the upload status window is finished your PowerPoint should now be in WebCT6 and accessible by students. You will want to confirm this by entering the Student View tab.
The presentation will automatically be downloaded to student’s computer when they click on the name or icon.
