How do I add my syllabus to my WebCT course?

There are a few ways you might include your syllabus in WebCT. One is to use the built in Syllabus tool to upload and link to your syllabus. These screenshots illustrate linking to an HTML file, but you can use a PDF or DOC in the same manner.

  1. Login to WebCT and follow the link for your course in the Course List.

  2. Click the Teach tab.
  3. Click Manage Course.
  4. Click Tools.
  5. On the tools page, check the box for Syllabus, then scroll down and click Save. A Syllabus button will appear in the Course Tools menu on the left side of the window.

  6.  Click the Syllabus button in the Course Tools menu.
  7. Click Use File and Select.
  8. Click the Browse button to open the file manager.

    If you haven't already uploaded your syllabus file to WebCT, you'll need to click the My Computer button in the file manager, then select your syllabus file from your computer's hard drive.

Once you've done this, your students will be able to access your syllabus by clicking the Syllabus link in the Course Tools menu. You can test your Syllabus link by clicking the Student View tab, then Syllabus.
