Compliance Coordinator

The responsibility of the Compliance Coordinator is to ensure institutional control in complying with NCAA, CCAA and university regulations policies and procedures. Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the University’s comprehensive compliance program; and developing and maintaining effective operating procedures and administrative systems to insure institutional compliance with NCAA, CCAA and University regulations. Coordinates prospective student-athletes and the NCAA Eligibility Center, NCAA participation paperwork and maintenance of current and former student-athlete files; monitors all Countable Athletic Related Activity and recruiting activities; assists with the monitoring of progress toward degree, eligibility and certification; coordinates data for all NCAA academic progress and monitoring reports; and coordinates and monitors staff and season certification per NCAA, CCAA and university policy. Monitors all recruiting activities, initial eligibility certification, and continuing eligibility certification. Provides and maintains forms used to document student-athlete recruiting activities. Maintains documentation to academic evaluation record. Maintains all forms used in the certification of initial eligibility. Maintain all forms used in the certification of continuing eligibility. Processes and maintains all financial aid agreements. Attends all CCAA and NCAA meetings related to compliance and rules education. Provides support for the Associate Athletics Director for any special project and/or assignment related to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, compliance and/or NCAA policy.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 4 yrs of progressively responsible administrative experience, including 1 yr working with NCAA compliance. Requires a working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the Athletics compliance program to develop conclusions and make recommendations; thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the Athletics compliance program; ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinator, and perform work in various situations where numerous demands are involved; skill in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications; ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively; demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form; ability to organize and plan work projects including handling multiple priorities; ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment; and the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit. Requires extensive experience with, knowledge of, and commitment to the NCAA rules compliance; and familiarity with policy issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics and higher education. Requires the ability to implement and manage administrative systems to ensure compliance with applicable regulation; and to direct and perform detailed work with accuracy under time pressures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range is $3,845 to $5,770 a month. Starting salary placement will not exceed $4,000 per month. This is a temporary full time, exempt position anticipated to start July 2009. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations.
