The Athletics Administrative Support Assistant will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Athletic Department in the areas of cash handling, cash management, program/GL reconciliation, Student Assistant sign ups and voucher processing, program support, front desk-public arena and other duties as assigned. The Athletics Administrative Support Assistant will provide support to the Intercollegiate Athletics department through general clerical duties such as filing, word processing, mass-mailing arrangements, reception, and phone answering. The Athletics Administrative Assistant will also perform the following duties: cash handling in accordance with the NCAA agreed upon procedures and SSU Cash Handling Policy; remote cashiering as necessary, in accordance with the NCAA agreed upon procedures and SSU Cash Handling Policy; assistance in the student assistant process including form processing and logistics; and support to Intercollegiate Athletics individual sports through general office duties.
Qualifications
Minimum educational requirements are a high school degree or technical/vocational program degree and a minimum of one to two years related office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be proficient in performing work assignments. Must have a thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices and fluency in using standard office software packages, including intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word; and a strong foundation of English grammar, punctuation and spelling. Must possess critical thinking skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of policies and procedures; demonstrate the ability to maintain accurate records with a high level of attention to detail; possess a general working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures; ability to independently handle large, multiple work unit priorities, projects, and meet critical, cyclical deadlines in a timely manner. The incumbent must have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; solve problems using reasoning and judgment to develop practical, thorough, and creative solutions; prioritize multiple tasks to meet changing priorities; be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills; maintain confidentiality; possess experience responding with sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds, and in maintaining good working relationships with faculty, staff and students; communicate effectively with the campus community; demonstrate competency in effectively presenting standard information in writing, draft and compose correspondence and standard reports; and enter data by keyboarding approximately six hours a day. The incumbent must be able to provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors while working in a professional, fast-paced environment. Must be able to adapt to change in the work environment, accept criticism and feedback, effectively handle multiple tasks and competing demands, and work cooperatively in group situations and work actively to resolve conflicts. May be required to meet the standards of the University Conflict of Interest policy if performing purchasing with a CCP card.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range is $2,088 to $3,133 a month. Starting salary placement will not exceed $2,428 monthly, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a temporary, full time, non-exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon administrative and budgetary considerations as well as the individual's performance.
