Reporting to the Senior Director for Common Management Systems, the position manages operational activities for the CMS Department, which supports Oracle/PeopleSoft’s Finance, Human Resources, and Student Administration applications. This involves coordinating and managing large and small scale CMS projects, formulating and administering policies related to the projects working with campus constituents, establishing and implementing short and long-range campus goals, and developing and implementing strategies and programs to increase CMS system utilization and satisfaction from across all facets of the organization as well as any possible external constituents.  The incumbent has a high level of accountability for the outcomes of the projects, and has the authority to make policy and project decisions with broad impact.  Specific responsibilities include independently managing CMS projects which will involve working with Sonoma State campus staff as well as other CSU campus/system-wide staff to develop deliverables, project plans, technical and functional specifications, change management to insure acceptance and utilization by campus constituents, and formulating and administering policies related to these projects; working closely with functional leads for various areas within CMS and the IT Administrative Information Systems staff to insure project and work request deliverables are met and are on schedule; acting as functional/technical liaison for any department that has CMS project requests requiring IT-AIS involvement; pulling on-demand reports out of CMS for senior management as well as assisting with overall project management; providing system support for CMS in any of the implemented modules (Finance, Human Resources, and Student Administrations – with the strong emphasis being in SA support), to include  security maintenance, system troubleshooting, testing, setup and configuration changes, and development/maintenance of system customizations; developing marketing strategies to insure maximum system utilization; developing and implementing business processes for following up on deliverables; and processing feedback and developing training plans, schedules, and documentation to increase end-user satisfaction.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree and direct work experience involving Oracle/PeopleSoft (Student Administration modules strongly preferred, but extensive experience with Finance or Human Resources is also acceptable), and/or equivalent training and experience to clearly illustrate ability to meet all responsibilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of ERP systems, specifically involving basic maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration/setup, and reporting. Candidate should be proficient in Oracle/PeopleSoft Query, and should have strong skills with Crystal Reports, SQR, and SQL. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work successfully both independently and as a team member; perform research and the development of new methods and processes; negotiate and represent the project in a professional manner; understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact on other areas when responding to inquiries and requests related to the work area; use independent judgment and critical thinking, as well as a thorough understanding of business operational procedures; and must be able to maintain good working relationships with administration, staff and the community. Must have intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications, website maintenance applications (such as Macromedia Dreamweaver or equivalent).
