Adapted Physical Education (APE)

Adapted Physical Educators (APEs) are specialists who teach, assess, and consult regarding infants, children, and adults with disabilities in the psychomotor domain. They work in public and private educational settings, in sport and recreational settings, and in association with community agencies.

Graduates enter a credential program to prepare to teach physical education to special populations in the public schools, or they work with private or public agencies.
