Blacktop |
| Lesson Objective (Psychomotor and/or Cognitive): |
For students to work together in a positive manner. |
| Teaching Hints: |
- Have the students who are turning the rope do so at a safe speed.
- No putdowns or negative comments allowed.
- If there is more than one group, give points for cooperation and positive comments.
- Make sure those turning the rope get a chance to jump.
|
| Description: |
|
Three to nine players stand next to the rope. On the signal, the outside players turn the rope and all the inside players jump.
|
| Alternatives/Modifications |
- Start with three or four jumpers and increase the number.
- Have students run in and start jumping.
- Set a designated number of consecutive jumps and have them try to reach it. When they do, see if they can break their record number of jumps.
- Have jumpers hold or bounce a ball.
