Use of right and left, special awareness, coordination, gross motorCA Social Studies Curriculum doesn't specifically study Norse myths or Scandanavian stories such as Beowulf (written in England but about a Scandanavian fighting monsters in Denmark) or the Kalevala (a singing hero's journey in Finland), but I included them in 4th and the children loved them.

Teaching Hints:

Teach in sections, the all the way through, when ready perform double time.

Description:

Beats 1-4: turn R toe to side, move it back in place, turn it to the side again, then to place.

Beats 5-8: repeat with L toe

Beats 9-12: lift R knee, touch R toe in place, lift R knee, step on R foot.

Beats 13-16: repeat with L knee

Beats 17-20: put hand on nose and "wind" nose with other hand

Beats 21-24: switch hands to wind noseBeats 25-28: jump toward center, hold, jump out, hold

Beats 29-32: turn in a full circle: jump, jump, jump, hold
