This is a good song to explore dance moves, but can be done to different types of music.

Teaching Hints:

The teacher may choose to face the same direction as the students while demonstrating the dance. If so, make sure that the students can hear the instructions. The teacher may also choose to face the students while demonstrating the dance. This technique requires the students to mirror the teacher and may be difficult for some students.

Description:

Students are in line formation. Teacher should teach the dance step by step, adding on a step only when all students can complete the first step.

Counts 1-4 Grapevine right

Counts 5-8 Grapevine left

Counts 1-2 Step forward on right foot and hop

Counts 3-4 Step forward on left foot and hop

Counts 5-8 Step backward on right foot, left foot, right foot, and kick left foot

Counts 1-2 Rock forward on left foot, two bounces

Counts 3-4 Rock forward on right foot, two bounces

Counts 5-8 Walk three steps forward on the left foot, right foot, left foot, and a quarter turn on the left foot to the left.

Repeat the dance.
