Teaching Hints:

It is important to emphasize the differences between "touches" and "steps" in this dance so that the students are not missing beats. Touches are just taps, and a step has weight transferred to that foot.

Description:

The students should be in lines facing the same direction for this dance.

Counts 1-4: Step right foot to side, left together; step right foot to side, touch left.

Counts 5-8: Step left foot to side, right together, step left foot to side, touch right.

Counts 1-2: Touch right foot forward, touch right foot backward.

Counts 3-4: Step forward with right foot, make a quarter turn right.

Counts 5-6: Touch left foot to side, cross over right foot, and step with left foot.

Counts 7-8: Touch right foot to side, cross over left foot, and step with right foot.

Repeat the dance.
