Lesson Objective (Psychomotor and/or Cognitive):

develop and practice coordinated movements to implement in a dance.

Teaching Hints:

This can be a real fun one after the students have the basics down. The first eight counts can be turned into kicks instead of touches and really get the energy moving (right kick, right cross over left, right kick, right together). It can be a good workout for the students!

Description:

Students will line up in row formation facing the front of the room. The steps should be taught one at a time, not adding the next step on until all students have completed the previous step successfully.

Counts 1-4: Right heel forward, cross right heel in front of left leg; right heel forward, right foot together.

Counts 5-8: Left heel forward, cross left heel in front of right leg, left heel forward, left foot together.

Counts 1-4: Right heel forward, right together; left tow backward, left together.

Counts 5-8: Step right forward and make a half turn; turn left to the rear. Step right forward and make a half turn; turn left to front.

Counts 1-8: Four forward two-steps; start on right.

Repeat the dance.
