| Lesson Objective (Psychomotor and/or Cognitive): |
Introduce and practice throwing objects both overhand and underhand.
Allows children to practice throwing while reinforcing place value concepts.

| Teaching Hints: |

| Description: |
- Divide the class into small groups of 2-4 children.
- Place the plates, poly spots, or milk crates on the floor about 4-8 feet away from each group.
- The teacher calls out a place value (tens, hundreds etc.) and the students throw the object into the container with the same place value sign.

| Alternatives/Modifications |
- Tape place value signs to a wall and have the kids throw to these spots.
- Make it a scoring game - one point for each hit on target and a point each time if the proper throwing technique is used.
