  • 6 sheets of paper or index cards with string to hang around students' necks as labels, with X written on 3 of them and O written on the other three
  • mats or squares for the students to stand on, 7 per group of 6 players

Description:

The object of the game is to have the three X’s change places with the three O’s in the fewest number of moves as possible. Players are allowed to step sideways one place or jump over one player. Players must move one at a time. This is a team effort with team decision making.

Alternatives / Modifications

Have players stand on a balance board (2x4) or line on the ground. Players must switch places without falling off the board.
