Psychomotor- Explore different ways to use your body, while looking like an animal.

Teaching Hints:

Start class with a healthy warm up including a run and stretching.

Description:

Alligator Crawl Lie face down with elbows bent. Move along the floor like an alligator. Keep hands close to the body and feet pointed out. Use unilateral movements; right arm and leg moving together. Next, use cross lateral movements.

Puppy Dog Run With hands and feet on floor, run like a happy puppy. Go sideways and backward.

Bear Walk Bend forward and touch ground with hands. Travel slowly using a unilateral movement.

Elephant Walk Bend over forward. Clasp hands together to make a trunk. The end of the trunk should swing close to the ground. Keep the legs straight as you travel in a slow elephant like manner. Swing the trunk slowly side to side as you move.

Crab Walk Squat down and put both hands on the floor behind you. Walk forward, backward, and sideways without letting your bottom touch the floor. Try to keep body as flat as possible. No sagging in the middle!

Seal Crawl Get into a front-leaning push-up position, with your weight supported on straight arms. Keeping the body straight, walk forward using your hands, while dragging your legs behind you.

Alternatives / Modifications
