Fiina Ugrin Jolley 1972 (submitted 08-07-2009): I retired from Fort Bragg Unifed School District in June 2008 after teaching mathematics for thirty-five years. In 2008-09 I worked with three first year math teachers at Fort Bragg High School, serving as their "shoulder to lean on" once a week. This was a wonderful experience. One of those first year teachers was Virginia Knott, SSU 2006!

I am entering my 7th year of teaching at Pioneer High School in San Jose, and my 3rd year as a co-chair of the math department. Currently teaching Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics, and a specialized course for seniors to prepare them to take college placement exams. I developed the review/project-based course myself, and it is based on the topic outline for the CSU's ELM Placement Test. I am also a mentor teacher through our district BTSA program, and served this year as the curriculum team leader for our WASC review. And I am the head coach of Pioneer's varsity boys soccer team.

David Bozarth 2004 (submitted 04-07-2009): After completing the B.S. program in Math (Computer Science Option), worked as a programmer/analyst with the IT group at a local winery - while doing part-time graduate study in SSU's Engineering Science Dept. Served a 3-month internship at Agilent Technologies in Santa Rosa in Summer 2008, and completed the M.S. program in Spring 2009. Summer 2009: Internship in software integration/test automation at Calix Solutions in Petaluma. Impressed with the new looks of the Math Dept. website and the MATH Major paper circular!

I am currently teaching all levels of mathematics at Redwood Academy Charter School in Ukiah and will be starting an AP Calculus program there for the 2010-11 school year. I thought that when I finished my teaching credential I was done with night classes, but I will also be teaching part-time at Mendocino College in the Fall – I'm really looking forward to it, even with the evening class schedule!

Virginia Knott 2006 (submitted 29-05-2010): I am still teaching at Fort Bragg High and loving it! We just bought our first home in November so I am learning to live in a construction zone.
