Trio Navarro plays the "Ezra" Horn Trio by Brian S. Wilson
Sunday, March 31, 4 p.m. Weill Hall
Faculty Recital with Roy Malan, violin, Jill Rachuy Brindel, cello, Marilyn Thompson, piano, and guest artists Bill Klingelhoffer, horn and Natalie Parker, clarinet —
Along with Brahms’ quintessential Horn Trio in E-flat, this program includes a newcomer to the violin, horn and piano genre – “And Ezra the Scribe Stood Upon a Pulpit” by Brian S. Wilson. Ezra is metaphorically referred to as the flowers that appear on the earth signifying springtime in the history of Judaism. Wilson says, “This piece is not a programmatic description of Ezra the Scribe but it serves to conjure up impressions of this fascinating chapter in Jewish history.” Happy Easter and Chag Sameach!
